Videos are what Youtube is all about. You can’t many views or subscribers without them. A few videos that get larger-than-normal views are bike checks, how-tos, and reviews, along with “edits.” A few of these good, high quality videos has the possibility of taking in many subscribers. If the riding in your videos is good, than people will keep watching and subscribe. Don’t change what you do, just because someone tells you to also. If you keep doing what you want to do, the people that want to watch you will watch, and those that don’t, won’t. I come across this very often, and it has seemed to work out for me. Just make the videos you want and don’t care what anyone else says, the views and subscribers will come, and they will be ones that actually want to watch your videos.
Next up are groups. Mainly a group on facebook I help administrate called “we bmx on youtube.” It has over 1100 members, so it’s a pretty large audience to share your videos with. When I upload a new video, I always post it there, as do many other riders. It’s a good way to help promote yourself, get help with any bike questions you may have, and also just to find more videos to watch. Some people in the group do sub for sub, or offer to subscribe in exchange for help, so it is definitely something I would become a part of. You just need a facebook account, then follow this link: http://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/BoredBuddyBMX/
Finally, we have video tags. This is a huge part of where my views come from, and because of that, subscribers. If you would have noticed by now, though I doubt you have, all of my tags in my past few hundred videos have been the same, given the few extra tags when needed. This way, when people get to my videos, all of the related videos are mine, and they have no choice but to continue watching my videos. It really helps out in the long run. Just use your name, maybe a few bike parts, and a few other defining characteristics. Also put a complete bike check in your description. Feel free to use my layout (can be found on any one of my videos in the description box), just not my parts. That way, when people search for a part that you have, your videos will come up.
With these few helpful tips, you will hopefully have a better time finding subscribers, getting views, and getting more noticed.
